The regulation of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health on patient documents defines the data that may be stored, and the way for doing so, to organise and implement patient care. A personal register is formed from these data.
According to the Personal Data Act, a person must be informed if his or her personal data are recorded in a personal register. In addition, data subjects must be informed of the purpose of the personal data processing, where data are regularly handed over to, and the rights of the data subject.
The Maresan patient register consists of the centrally maintained Maresan Oy patient register (private clients) and employer-specific, centrally maintained Maresan Oy occupational healthcare patient registers.
